Hi! I’m Sam.
I'm taking this year to see how useful I can be with my crafting skills. It's what I love to do, and what I want to share with the world. I want to learn new things, teach what I know, and share what I've found along the way. Here's a breakdown of what I hope to accomplish:

I create ideas for people of all crafting levels who prefer to give gifts filled with love and attention. I show them how to make thoughtful items that won’t just sit in a shoebox in the closet. (or in a landfill.)
Ever since I learned to crochet, I’ve been making holiday gifts for friends and family. I’m the person who shows off their creations proudly and when asked, “Hey, can you make me one too?” always says, “Sure!”
One of my favorite responses to compliments is, “Thanks! I made it!” I really want to bring that pride and joy to others, giving them the confidence to deliver gifts without saying, “Oh, it’s not the best,” “It’s not perfect, see where I messed up there?” or “If you don’t like it, you can tell me!”
I also create a lot of original designs for cosplays. As in - I will draft my own costumes, and find creative ways to make the accessories.
I’ve attended GenCon twice and made five cosplays for it if you include making my husband’s too. Additionally, I’ve collaborated and assisted with many friends’ costumes. I also generally make new Halloween costumes every year, as well as every year that I went to a Renaissance Faire. I have experience making toddler costumes (I used to be a nanny before I moved.)
I am very interested in showing the world how I decide to do a character for a cosplay, what the process is for drafting the patterns, and coming up with the plans for each component of the costume.
And when I’m not crocheting, sewing, or doing another crafty activity, you can probably find me snuggling the cutest dog in the world, or exploring my new city, San Diego.

My favorite animal is the camel. I collect camel tchotchkes.
I follow a ketogenic lifestyle, though still relatively new to it.
Did I mention my dog is the best in the world?
My husband and I have matching wedding ring tattoos.
I love playing all sorts of board games.
